The Herriot Classic Car Hire trail

Take the reflections classic hire Morris Minor Saloon onto the back roads of the Hambleton Hills and wind your way up via the White horse at Kilburn to Thirsk and the world of James Herriot. Leave Thirsk in a northerly direction to Osmotherley to pick up the moorland road that meanders its way down to Hawnby and Old Byland.Past Rievaulx abbey and into Helmsley. Take a walk around the pretty market town before heading south to Crayke and The Durham Ox for a couple of nights.

The next morning pass back through Helmsley to pick up the road into Bransdale and back out along Rudland Rigg into Gillamoor. A short hop from here to Hutton le Hole and a visit to the Folk museum or simply to watch the sheep grazing on the village green.

Leave Hutton to head south back into the Howardian hills taking in Nunnington Hall and the beautiful village of Hovingham before stopping in Terrington for Tea and scones at Yorkshire Lavender. From here take an amble around the green lanes until eventually returning to the comforts of the Durham Ox and more lovely food.
