"Hi Charles,
Thanks very much for all your help in getting this wonderful car to my dad for father's day. It looks beautiful in all the photos and the letter he's just sent me makes it very clear he really enjoyed having it for the day! I really appreciate how much extra time and trouble you went to getting the insurance, delivery and drop-off sorted out. Please feel free to quote me any time. thanks again."

Thank you for an amazing day. Driving the Jaguar was a magical experience for me and a day I shall never forget. thanks also for the scrumptious picnic hamper. I wish we could have done it justice, but I think we were too excited! A truly wonderful experience. Yours, PJ

"Hello Charles,
I just wanted to write to say a big thank you for the time you gave us on Sunday. We had such a lovely day - and it has convinced us we are doing the right thing in investing in an MGA. Your car is absolutely wonderful - a tribute to you and all the time and effort it must have taken. Your advice regarding buying our own car was invaluable, thanks."

"Dear Charles,
Sincere thanks to you and your family team for enabling me to give Rob such a special birthday surprise on his Birthday. It was a superb day and Rob really enjoyed driving the E-type - he just wished he could have driven it for longer! Special thanks too for allowing us all to come and look at the other cars and share your MGA experiences."

Just spent 3 wonderful days at Ann's Cottage. The location is ideal for a relaxing break and Ann & Colin could not be more helpful always on hand to give great advice about the surrounding area and good places to eat. We also hired the Morgan sports car from Reflections and had the most fantastic day - would highly recommend, Charles was also very helpful. Hope to back soon.

Helmesley is a lovely village, we also liked Goathland as fans of Heartbeat. The Desi Spice Club (Indian) in Beadlam was excellent as was the Blacksmith's Arms in Lastingham.

I hired an E-type Jaguar and the Old Smithy Cottage as a surprise 60th birthday treat for my husband. What a fantastic combination.

Everything was perfect thanks to Reflections, York and Colin and Ann's beautifully renovated cottage. Nothing was too much trouble for them and Ann's breakfast was so large, we couldn't eat until evening!

Our son, daughter and partners visited and we spent an afternoon in the lovely garden in the sunshine.

With Ann and Colin's recommendations we ate out at beautiful places and thoroughly enjoyed the food.

Amazing car, amazing cottage, amazing time!!

Hannah has already added to the Guest Book (see 30th May) for our recent stay but I would like to add my comments as well. We have stayed at many B & B's in our 40 years of married life and I can honestly say that the experience of meeting Ann and Colin was second to none...what a lovely loving couple. Ann's Cottage will never be beaten in my eye's. It is obvious from reading other entries that we were not a 'one off' but we were made to feel so special with the friendship shown from the moment we arrived. Hannah arranged the Cottage (and car) for me and boy what a superb present. The breakfast's kept us going all day as we drove around the Moors/Dales, terrific. I arrived totally stressed out and left feeling 10 years younger. Thank you both (and Hannah) so very much. We will be back.

What can I say! We have just returned from a 4 day break at Ann's cottage. This was a present from our son ,along with a Morgan sports car from Reflections car hire. The cottage was just perfect. It was immaculate and fitted out to the highest standard. It is so cosy and comfortable in a beautiful setting, ideal for walking or just totally relaxing away from the stresses of daily life.An added bonus was the delicious breakfasts delivered to our door every morning along with a warm fresh loaf.Last but not least Ann and Colin who literally made our holiday.Nothing is too much trouble and they are the nicest couple we have met in a long time.We came home feeling we had made new friends. Can't wait to come back.

We had a fantastic time.
Sunday afternoon walk to Rosedale Abbey and back. Excellent dinner at the Fox and Hounds, Sinnington.
Monday morning walk to Rosedale via Northdale- through the woods above the cottage and down the lovely little river valley. Later, drove over the moors to Whitby - famous fish and chips at the Magpie cafe, returning back across the moors at dusk.
Tuesday wet - York railway museum and the old city. Enormous dinner at the Blacksmiths Arms, Lastington. Dodged the sheep and drove back via the scenic route over Chimney Bank.
Wednesday - my Christmas present - a day's hire of an MGA from Reflections Classic Car Hire. The weather was brilliant - blue sky and sunshine all day - and the car was fantastic - fully restored over an 18 month period by the proprieter, Charles. We drove up and down 3 in 1 hills, along narrow byways in 'hidden' valleys and across the tops of the moors. Lunch at Rievaulx. The whole day was very memorable.
Thursday - the famous '12 mile walk' around the rim of the valley, along the disused railway. This was fantastic with magnificent views across the valley and relics of the Victorian iron workings. Dinner at the White Swan in Pickering - slept soundly that night!
Friday - Scarborough, via the car museum at Thornton le Dale. Some interesting cars, motor cycles and commercial vehicles, plus the biggest collection of miscellaneous parts, equipment and motoring memorabilia that I have ever seen. Also visited Murray Scott Nelson in Scarborough - the renowned restorer of Austin Healey 3000 sports cars. Fish and Chips (again!) at Mother Hubbards - highly recommended. Visited Robin Hoods Bay on the way back. That evening, we walked up the road beyond the cottage, just taking in the ambiance one last time.
It was beautiful just to sit outside the cottage and listen to the birdsong - so tranquil.
I had not been to this area before but enjoyed every minute - returning home feeling fighting fit after all the fresh air and exercise
We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at Ann's Cottage - it is a very special place and Ann and Colin made us so welcome.
