The Jaguar E-Type classic sports car has its roots on the race track, if you look at earlier models you can see how the car evolved into our Jaguar E-Type classic hire cars that are driven around the Yorkshire countryside by classic thrill seekers.
Now you may be wondering what happen to the A-Type Jaguar and the B-Type Jaguar, well the fact is that the C in C-Type actually stood for ‘Competition', which reflected its intent as a fully fledged racing car. After the success of the C-Type Jaguar at Le Mans, other teams inevitably began to copy the engineering of Jaguar. In the C-Type's final year at Le Mans, 1954, it came fourth with Roger Laurent and Jacques Swaters driving so, to keep themselves ahead of the motor racing game, Jaguar developed the D-Type. NEXT |
