The Jaguar E-Type, which is commonly known as the E-Type Jag, was first produced for the public in 1961 and continued to be produced until 1974. The Jaguar E-Type was the first racing car evolved design that made it into general production for the public practically unchanged, so if you hire a Jaguar E-Type classic car you're not only getting behind the wheel of a genuinely beautiful car, you are also driving a highly crafted piece of British sports engineering. In the 1960s the car was famous for its speed, craftsmanship and, above all, its staggering good looks and all this, combined with a relatively reasonable price, made it one of the most popular sports cars of its era. During the 13 years of production Jaguar sold 70,000 of its classic sports cars and the Jaguar E-Type still retains its iconic status as a classic sports car, making it much in demand to this day. The Jaguar E-Type has been voted number 1 sports car of the 1960s in various polls amongst classic car enthusiasts, and in March 2008 was ranked number 1 in the top 100 most beautiful cars in the Daily Telegraph newspaper.
